The meeting was brought to order by Ron Withers, who ask for a blessing of the food and the meeting. Ron then asks for the reading of the minutes of the April meeting, there was a motion and second to dispense with the reading of the minutes. Ron then ask for a treasurer’s report, there was a motion and second to dispense with the reading of the treasurer’s report. At this time Ron thanked all of the members for their attendance to the 2nd Annual East Texas Safety and Health Conference that is being held at the Best Western located at Interstate 20 and Estes Parkway in Longview, Texas. The conference is the joint project of the East Texas Chapter 083 of the American Society of Safety Engineers, the East Texas Safety Council and Arklatex Chapter of the American Industrial Hygiene Association. Ron thanked all of the presenter’s for being part of the Safety Conference and added that there presentations were very well done and were very good information for those attending the conference. The next order of business was the election of officers for the coming year. The following officers were elected for the 2000-2001 term.
